Marinara Sauce

Marinara Sauce

This is the easiest and tastiest Marinara Sauce ever. I use for any recipe that requires a simple and Italian flavor sauce like Chicken Parm or Lasagna.

Ingredients:

  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed (crush these in a garlic press tool - this is the best way to get all the flavor out of them)
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes (San Marzano preferred)
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh basil (or 1 1/2 teaspoon dried basil)
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh oregano (or 1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano)
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Procedure:

  • Heat sauce pan to medium heat.
  • Add olive oil and crushed garlic. Cook for about 1-2 minutes. Do not let the garlic brown.
  • Pour in the crushed tomato, basil, oregano, sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a low simmer, cover, stir occasionally and let cook for 10 minutes and it's done. Adjust salt and pepper to taste as desired.
