Ingredients
- 1/2 pound of sausage - whatever flavor you like
- 2 Tablespoon butter
- 3 Tablespoons flour
- 1 Cup milk
- 1 Cup chicken stock
- salt and pepper to taste
- pinch of nutmeg
- pinch of garlic powder
Procedure
- Brown and break up the sausage in a medium heat sauce pan.
- Melt the butter over low heat. Add the flour and cook slowly, stirring constantly until frothy looking.
- Mix milk and chicken stock - micro until warmed through.
- Slowly add the milk and stock mixture while whisking constantly.
- Turn up heat to medium and keep whisking constantly until the gravy comes together and is just thickened. Add more milk as needed.
- Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and garlic powder.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sausage
